About

I'm a backend engineer specializing in Python and Django. My work is designing and implementing web systems and RESTful APIs, integrating third-party services, and keeping distributed systems reliable as they grow.

I also work on the frontend with React when a feature needs it. I don't call myself a frontend specialist, but I know enough to build the interface for what I ship instead of handing it off and waiting, which, on a small team, is often the difference between a feature landing this sprint and the next one.

Since 2019 I've worked remotely with companies in the United States, Canada and Europe, fintech, marketplaces, digital health, revenue management. I've built projects from scratch, inherited large codebases and made them better, and onboarded engineers into both.

I care about testing, continuous integration and readable code versioning, not as ceremony, but because they're what let a team move fast without breaking things.
